Hi guys, I have few more questions re this laundry biz…hope you can advise me…
Question:
(1) Which is better, front-loader or top loader washer? gas-fed or electrical dryer? in terms of the ff: (a) upfront cost of buying, (b) maintenance cost, (c) water requirement, (d) energy/electricity, (e) capacity.(2) What brand is the best? in terms of: (a) after service, (b) spare parts availability, (c) durability
(3) Is it ok to buy second-hand or reconditioned brand? (I would appreciate referrals…)
Side trip: I went to Mr. Laundryshope of Ms. etten and I really learned a lot; I guess her laundry shop has outlived/outsmarted most of their competitor (in the area) with a simple business formula: simplicity and pure-service. I was impressed with the loyalty of her staff (imagine, the guy na nakausap ko was so proud of his work telling me na he has been with Ms. etten since the start of the business six years ago at dun na raw siya nagka-asawa at nagka-anak!) I’m now convince that more than the financial capital required in any bizniz venture, we need to invest first in our human capital…
At yung shop ni Ms. Etten, no-frills ha! Very functional lang ung space…I now realize bakit one of the advise dito sa thread is to focus more on the marketing rather than spent on the how to make your shop well-designed (although at the very least, we should make it presentable)…kasi, I was informed, most of the effort in the laundry business ‘pala’ is pick-up/delivery.
The visit to Ms. Etten’s Laundryshop is really worthwhile and the business tips she shared are very helpful…sayang nga lang she was not around when I went there (my mistake, I should have set an appointment) but her staff was so accomodating; and they called naman Ms. etten and I was able to talk to her over the phone. But sayang talaga…kasi I missed the doughnut
