Brands depend on the laundry shop you want to put up. If its for retail only, meaning walk-in
customers only, a 10 kg commercial washing machine is what I would recommend. As for the brand, there’s really nothing in particular. A front load washing machine is also commendable, simply because they are water efficient, and cleans better than top load.

10 kg capacity top load brands available in the market are:
1. Whirlpool
2. Speed Queen
3. American Home
4. Panasonic

Frontload washing machines that are popular are:
1. Electrolux
2. Whirlpool
3. Samsung
4. Elba

• what to expect in the first year of operations (or first 6 months)

Still depends on how you handle yourr newly put up business. And also how you studied the location, whether its feasible to put up the business or not. In Any business naman, there’s always the risk factor. So maybe you’re ROI already in six months, or you’re struggling to meet your quota. Bottom line is, you have the responsibility to make the business work. After all, you’re the owner.
