Hi Ms. Etten( sorry po for the nobela , I just want to share)
I’m contemplating on starting my own laundry business but i don’t have the required capital to start it up with. So I decided that i’ll use my residential place to set up my laundry business. I have one washer and will still buy a dryer and all the necessary paraphernalia for the biz. I am planning to attend your seminar and eventually register with DTI. I posted sa isang web yung laundry name ko and the pick up delivery service na magiging set up ng laundry shop ko and i never expected na two weeks from posting the ads may nag reply and institutional customer kaagad. Isang salon, and i was asked to do their pillow case, towels and rugs sa tatlong branches nila . I was asked to give price quotations and laundry service sample. pillow case/small towel is at 2.50, medium /large towel/rug is at 5.00. Volume is 70 to 100 towels per branch kung lean days. - I am a little bit concerned at how you’re going to start the services if you still haven’t started putting up the facility. Also with a very little knowledge, no background at all, how were you able to derive the prices that you quoted them. Normally a large towel/rug costs about Php12.50 per pc. Your price of pillow case/medium towel is rather high at Php2.50 per pc, but looking at the volume of 70-100 pcs large towel, your high price of pillow case wont be able to subsidize your low offer per pc of large towel. That’s of course my own opinion only.
By the way, I told them newbie lang ako and not registered yet para transparent lahat coz adamant din ako at first but they kept on calling , and I was told na mag pa register ako dahil that will just take a week or so. Pardon me, but don’t you think the institution is taking advantage of you knowing you’re only new in the business, they might have the idea that you’re in dire need of client that even at a low price, you’d get the account? Just a thought..
The salon’s requirement 1. mapaputi ang towels, 2. maalis yung stains,3. mabango 4. malinis. I know it is a long shot, but with mere guts, and the little knowledge na na research ko nag sample ako ng laundry service ko. Practically, traditional hand wash and hang dry and press ang ginawa ko. Coz yung towels eh sobrang manipis na and makutim , may mark pa yung mga towels na year 2007. Nag sample ako sa 2 branches nila pero not on the 3rd branch na kc medyo malayo na (sm mega mall branch nila). I am awaiting their reply. I delivered my laundry sample yesterday and the other day sa dalawang branches. I am now crossing my fingers…Not to burst your bubble..but handwashing as far as my experience is concerned is never done in a corporate account. Handwashing is pegged at Php55 per kilo, I hope you were able to read that somewhere..
Ms Etten , pls bear with me, eto po questions ko:
1. Yung sobrang manipis/old na towel ba pwede pang i-washer, parang mapupunit na kc? Clothes or towels has their normal wear and tear, meaning talagang ninipis yan especially if washed everyday add to that being bleached everyday. So if you ask me, are they still safe to be machine washed? No but you still have to because they’re priced to be machine washed..
2.How will you whiten yung mga towels na since 2007 ginagamit? Depending on the type of fabric, but if its already old used everyday and washed everyday, I don’t think you can still retain them to the original state..However, you can try soaking the towels in HOT detergent bleach solution, leave it for overnight..see the result the next day. For sure it would be impressive.
3.I used hot water and vinegar to remove chemicals and amoy from the towel plus fabric onditioner, pero it didn’t work. Ano po ba ang tips dito? Removal of chemical and bad odor cannot be done in a rush. It would always take a lot of time and effort to remove those..And A BIG CHUNK OF PATIENCE
4. How will you remove nail polish stains sa towels? Whatever they use to remove nail posh on toes and fingers, di ba acetone?

5. Yung price quotes ko po ba ,okay lang? coz parang handwash po ata ang kelangan ng mga old towels nila. Your price is cheap..No wonder they’re willing to wait for you to legalize your business.
6. Ms. Etten when is your next seminar po? MY NEXT SEMINAR IS ON DECEMBER 12, 2009
Ms. Etten, pls help. Thank you for taking time to read .
Hi ms. etten, need your advise badly. I dont know how to track you coz the other threads eh locked na ata. Sana you can find time to read my querries. Thank youOk lang po ba na mag start ako sa residence ko ng isang maliit na laundry shope/area. I’m situated in a small village, mga 50 households lang. Tapos pick up delivery on the nearby areas. I just want to test the waters pa po kc, coz i don’t have enough capital yet,( still looking for resources). However, I have a washer, detergent suipplies, will buy a dryer… Can i start the business without me getting the necessary permits muna??? Can I just issue receipts I bought from the bookstore to customers??? Paano po yung job order form, must po ba ito??? Pls help. Thank you
Ok lang mag start ng business with all he factors you mentioned, however it is very important to register your business and get the necessary permits. This would save yo hassle later on. Job order is printed ordered to a printing press. It is a must.
