hi monette,
i was a participant in march 2010 seminar and gained much needed information in setting up a laundry shop. your number advise is to find a perfect or suitable location wherein it is the life blood of the business. i found a location which could cater to household and students. the shop is under construction and hopefully we can open in 2 weeks time. can you give me some tips or advise on what marketing strategies i can offer to my prospective clients. since the competition is very stiff in the area i need to introduce promotions and discounts. i need to go out and seek for customers and not just sit in my shop and wait for someone to come in.
i also want to know if the association/organization of laundry shop that you are a member in is still open?
thank you and more power.Edgar
Hi!
Thank goodness you learned a lot from the seminar. Gives me inspiration to teach and support students more.
We have several marketing strategies we can use to introduce the business. Some are giving fliers, putting up big very visible tarpaulin, 5 plus 1 promo, (not 4 plus one) and lastly giving out laundry bags with your laundry name printed on it..
By the way, when you said life blood of the business, I can’t help to think it’s contradicting to stiff competition. I would have wanted you to get a location where there is not much competitor so that introducing the business to the area would have been easier. Nevertheless, it’s good that you have the guts to start right on..
Yes, club exists and it won’t dissolve for as long as I’m here.
Good luck! and please give me good news soon!

hi monette,
my laundry shop opened 3 days ago and have few questions to inquire if it is fine with you? our price is 25/kg and our competitors are charging 22/kg for a minimum of 10 kgs, but below that is charge to 25/kg also.
i noticed that other laundry shop near me are not accepting adult underware. they are bringing this stuff to us, how do i handle this situation? do i have the right to refuse it or do i need to charge a different rate? other question is, how much is the ideal rate for press only, by piece or kg?
i’m so excited whenever there are customers coming inside my shop, i am thankful from all the tips that i learned from your seminar.
hope that i could be a member of the organization.
thank you very much and more power to you.
