How To Treat Heavily Soiled Clothes

Posted by mrlaundry in April 4th 2011

anne Said,April 2nd, 2011
hi monette,
i have been using charlie’s soap in my shop.
i just wanna ask how do you treat clothes na sobrang dumi specially whites.i have tried washing them using charlie’s soap and bleach pero di talaga matanggal ang dumi.what detergent do you use for this kind of dirt?and what do you use for hand washing also.thanks again

null

Heavily soiled clothes are best treated thru soaking. Depending on the dirt, soaking may take time to completely if not clean clothes. Just by washing alone will not do the trick. If treating whites, using hot water will help. Using Charlies soap with bleach will void it’s purpose of being hypoallergenic and environment friendly, however if what we want to attain is to rush the job of cleaning, then by all means bleach will hasten the job.

Sometimes we use brands available in the market that contains oxybleach or antibacterial soap.

How Do You Assess A Laundry Business For Sale?

Posted by mrlaundry in March 24th 2011

Charlie soap

anne Said,March 22nd, 2011
hi monette,
my god parents recently bought an existing laundry that with 2 pairs of washers for 350,000 it has 60k monthly gross profit.
in my own opinion 350 is really big for just 2 pairs of old machines and the place lang.aside from that wala namang ibang gamit except for the old stuffs like steam iron, iron stand, shelving and hampers.
they cant manage the shop well so they ask for my help and hire me to manage the shop.
they have been operating it for a month now with no profit abunado pa nga.
rental fee 19,000
laborer fee 10,000
water bill 3,000
electric bill 5,000
please help me to figure out if this one is really hopeless case or may chance pa na mapalakas.hope you can help me thank you.

Hi Ann,
Agree with you, the business bought by your godparents is expensive.

Here are the things we need to check in buying a business:

    1. Ask the reason for selling.

    1. How many machines included? How old are the machines? Are they all in running condition?

    1. How about the rental deposit? Is it included in the price cost? How much is the rental?
    1. Lastly, the finances? How much is it earning for the last six months? How much is the gross revenue?
    1. Somethings I might have forgotten, but the four things mentioned above are the most important.
  • With these things in mind, we should be able to assess wether the business is worthy of buying, and as mentioned on the price quoted.

Now, since the business is there already, we might as well try hard to pull it up.

Here are the things you can do:

    1. Flyering
    1. Introduce free pick up and deliver
    1. Introduce promo
    1. Take the name of your customers, so you can ask for feedback, and/or ask when they’d want their laundry to be picked up.
    1. Lastly, monitor the flow of the business everyday. If possible be visible to the customer. Make a connection and maintain it for the business.
With that in mind, you should be able to do something to pull the business up and prevent it from shutting down.
  • I hope it’s not too late.

    Good luck!

Bath Towel Pricing For Corporate Accounts

Posted by mrlaundry in March 14th 2011

    grich3679 Said,
Hi, Ms. Etten. On this note, what is your recommended price per piece for spa items (e.g. bath-face-hand towels, bath robes, bed sheets, shorts)?

    Hi Grich,
If you can pull it off at 40 per kilo, base the price per piece at Php40, then it would be a good deal.
Running price for corporate though is Php20 per kilo depending on the volume regardless whether it’s a heavy or light material.

    theresa_bc Said,
hello po mam monette… ask lan po ako.. may nagpalaba po ng mga 40 bath towels sa akin which i priced at 15/piece (wherein they delivered the goods at 930 am and picked up at 3pm agad!), resort po sila at since their regular laundry service only delivers once a week and nauubusan daw sila ng mga towels… is it ok if i charge them per kilo for the towels or is it better for a per piece pricing? kaya lang wala na akong time na i air dry pa kasi nga rush…d po ba ako lugi non? thanks po mam…

Assuming weight of bath towel is 1 kilo based on your information that the institution is resort, I would say php15 is very low, especially if they like the items delivered same day. Even corporate had to give you enough lead time to process, otherwise quality would suffer. If they would agree, price per kilo at Php25 is just fair.
