“good pm,
Ive opened my laundry sa marikina, it started last saturday may 9 2009, sa first day may tanggap na 42 kg comforter, pero galing pa yan sa relatives ko,
sa area ko wala pang sales, i have been going around to distribute flyers everyday
so far sa 4 days na operations nakaka 42 kg comforter 15 kg wash dry fold. sobrang mahina pa.
my question is:
1.) same din ba sa iba na sobrang SOBRANG hina ng start? medyo nakakatakot lang baka mag continue eh
2.) if i get like institutional clients na catering, would it be too hard to handle their table cloths usually with food stains yan,”- mats
“Mats yan na yung sinasabi ko the reason why im discouraging new laundry shops. yung mga customers ng laundry shops dati may trabaho so they have money to pay and they have no time to wash, ngayon jobless na so he has all the time to wash and wala na siya pambayad.
besides sobrang marami na talaga laundry shops. i dont know how you got into this business but you get encouraged if you read the thread.
anyway since youre into the business na sayang naman na magsara ka na. so continue marketing, baka may mga condo malapit, iwan ka flyers sa mailbox nila, mga subdivision house to house mo distribute flyers, subukan mo free pick up and delivery sa walking distance. kung wala pa rin, no choice ka na, offer ka ng P20 per kilo promo hehe ganun talaga eh, yung iba dyan na hinde pa naniniwala na masyado nang marami laundry shop malalaman din nila later.
pasokin mo rin barber shop, parlor.” - carlos111
I assume mat had studied the location before he thought of putting up the business. The logic is simple, look at the location..tignan mo kung meron bang existing and as I’ve pointed out before pag meron na bilangin mo kung pang ilan ka..kung pang apat, pang lima, pang anim ka na, medyo mahirap na nga…
You opened May 9 at nakaka 42 kilos ka nang comforter and 15 kilos of WDF. Consider that good news. You wont know the business situation in 3,4,5 days operation. It would take 3 months to 6 months before you realize whether the business would click or not. Continue with your effort to get a piece of the cake. Ganun talaga. At tama lang na kabahan ka, otherwise pag relax ka lang eh hindi ka gagawa ng paraan to pull the business up.
Agree with carlos suggestion, continue marketing sa mga barber shop and parlors where you can offer a low price of Php20.- per kilo pero para sa walk in mo? offering that very cheap price is definitely a NO-NO. You would only create a price war at ikaw lang ang talo.
Looking at your expense, sobrang laki nito para mahabol mo pa sa 20 per kilo offer…
My personal opinion..
Have a nice day!

my mom started our laundry business in 1998.. with a pair of washing machine and a dryer.. namigay din kami ng mga flyers.. d ko masyado napansin kng madami na ba kami tanggap agad nung nag start palang.. basta ang alam ko 30/kg ang price for WDF, its higher compared to laundry shops in manila.. by the way we are located in bulacan.. we don’t have institutional customers.. puro walk in lang.. cguro ang advantage lang namin.. nasa loob kami ng subdivision and kami lang my laundry that time.. halos lahat ng nakatira dito busy sa mga work nila so nagpapalaundry cla sa amin.. until now madami pa rin kami customers.. kahit sa labas ng subdivision.. binabalikan kami.. kahit na mataas ung price nmin.. ngayon kasi 40/kg na ang WDF nmin.. meron narin mga laundry shops dito at mas mababa ang pricing nila but still we don’t consider them our competitors.. we still stick to our price because we are confident about the quality service that we offer our customers. And to my surprise.. bumalik ung mga customers namin kasi daw mura daw don sa iba pero hindi nalilinis ung mga damit nila.. nawawalan pa daw sila don..Don’t give up.. I’m sure someday you’ll be successful with this kind of business.. And I believe that the key to success is to provide quality service that your customer deserves.. Kasi babalikan ka nila no matter how high your price is.. Sa ibang laundry shop dito samin kasi talagang winawash lang nila sa machine.. they don’t check the clothes kung ok na ba.. kung kailangan pa ba kusutin.. Dito kasi sa amin very strict ako sa ganyan.. I always tell my worker (as in isa lang sya) to wash the clothes as if she’s washing her own so she’ll have no reason not to wash it properly.. Tapos if I have time I will personally check the clothes that she washed.. as in bubulatlatin ko at iche-check.. and if there’s something na kelangan ulitin.. pinapaulit ko at pinapakusot ko.. I want our customers to feel that it’s worth the price.. I hope this inspires you..
