how do you operate pick-up stations with the ff:
* turnover of service, e.i. if the customer brings his laundry a 8am, or 11 am or 2pm, when can he get his finished laundry?
- lead time is 24 hours. You should set cut off time, like 2 pm then batch is closed and every transaction coming thereafter should be considered for the next transaction day.
* do you specify your business as a pick-up station( in the signage and in the DTI permit) or do you consider it a branch?
In Quezon City, pick up station is considered a branch. Therefore in your signage, we indicate it as branch. Besides, branch is more impressive than a pick up station.
* do you assign a service vehicle to pick-up hourly, every two hours, or whenever?
No, instead we set a cut off time. once or twice a day, either 8 am and 8 am,4 pm.
* how far is your main processing area in terms of minutes from the PU station?
Ideally, it should not be too far from your main branch. Otherwise, it would be impractical because transportation expense of bringing the laundry to and from the pick up station should be considered overhead too.
* how many personnel do you employ and what will they do to keep them busy in the station?
Only one personnel is needed to man the pick up station. Tagging is what makes them busy in the shop other than receiving.
* what are the advantages of a pick-up station?
Advantage of pick up station is very minimal start up capital. Low maintenance since there’s no machine involved.
* how many square meters is the minimum area needed?
5 to 10 sq.m. is all you need to operate a pick up station.
Thank you so much in advance. -perpax
how do you operate pick-up stations with the ff:

Finally, I opened shop last month and my pick-up station was operational first week of May. My processing time is two days. Clients may bring in laundry anytime on a Monday, for instance, and all laundry collected that day will be ready for pick up on Wed at 5PM. For rush job orders (next day pick up), I charge a 30% premium. Pls let me know your thoughts on this.
