March 29th, 2010 @12:20 pmms monette,
hi…i attended your seminar last march 27th,i have been operating my laundry business for almost a year na rin.I have learned new techniques from you that i am applying now in my laundry.I like your being practical.Actually its just a home based laundry shop i use my personal washer and dryer.I also do pick up and delivery, so far ok naman ang flow ng business may mga loyal customers na rin ako.Ask ko lang sana just to make it clear regarding sa feasibility study you told us to maintain minimum 25/kilo even though you own the place etc…As for me i am hands on sa business i do all the work except for delivery and pick up.Naghihire ako ng mag dedelivery and pick up only when needed.Tapos im using an electric dryer pero minsan lang kc malaki ang space ko for hang drying…Yung mga competitor ko naman malayo sa amin you would need to ride a tricycle pa going to their shops 23/kilo ang charge nila.I started 23/kilo narin.Regarding my service i make sure talaga na satisfied ang customers ko i make it sure na malinis talaga ang mga damit nila specially sa whites.Matrabaho talaga yung pag bababad but i do it only when necessary.
One more question regarding pricing sa towels and maong jeans dito sa amin ang charge nila for that same as regular na rin except for the comforter which is 55/kilo sa bedsheets 40/kilo.What’s the best price i could offer them?I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks and godblessMay
Hi May,
Sorry for the late reply. First of, I’d like to thank you for the appreciation, I’m glad you liked what you saw. Congratulations on your business, taking the step is the most difficult in putting up one. I can see you have managed your business well having to retain regular customers.
As for your concern,
Ask ko lang sana just to make it clear regarding sa feasibility study you told us to maintain minimum 25/kilo even though you own the place etc. Yes, I push for the benchmark of 25 pesos per kilo. This is somehow self regulating the price to protect laundry business industry..
Dapat ko na ba Itaas ang charge ko?Kc naiisip ko i don’t pay rental fee,sa tao only when needed tapos sa water ko maliit lang consumption ko kc im using front load kaya tipid sa water.I don’t even have to pay for lpg kc electric dryer gamit ko which is seldom lang din gamitin. If your price is 23 per kilo, and the competition is far from your location then you have all the reason to increase the price. You say you don’t pay rental fee, you have low water consumption, electric is also low, yet all these are supposed to incur charges. It just so happen that you own the place but consider this, if you rent out the place, you would charge a price. You have low water consumption, good for you. You don’t pay for lpg, that’s because you hang dry and that is labor, which should be charging more. And imagine this: during rainy season, no sun, meaning you’ll need to use your electric dryer and that is expensive, I would say.
One more question regarding pricing sa towels and maong jeans dito sa amin ang charge nila for that same as regular na rin except for the comforter which is 55/kilo sa bedsheets 40/kilo.What’s the best price i could offer them?I hope to hear from you soon. Towels and jeans when separated should be charged premium..at 60 pesos per kilo. But if for example mixed with regular items, and there’s only one piece of those heavy items among the regular items, then let’s put it into consideration to charge it regular at 30 per kilo. In your area, premium items can be charged at 50 per kilo.
Good luck!
