Recently I have seen so many laundry shops sprouting everywhere.  Each having their own promotions to get a slice of the market. I have been in this business for eight years going nine and through all those years I have seen the ups and down. Others maybe wondering, what could be the secret behind the enduring success. Actually there’s none. It’s an open secret and once again, I’m going to share it to you.

Here goes:

1. Quality Service -Washing clothes is not an easy thing to do. It is a tedious job that I would skip doing having the chance but since it is my business, I can’t do anything but to deal with it. So what can I offer the customers? Well, I can assure the customers that I laundry their clothes same way I laundry mine. What else can top that?
2. Quality Soap or Detergent -  I  don’t think twice when it comes to using the quality detergent available in the market, and that is Charlies soap.
3. Reliable and Courteous Staff – It has always been one of the factors and working hand in hand with them made my running the business easier. I also made sure to focus on the “function” of the staff and not “on” the staff alone, so that anytime they decide to find another job and leave, I would always have my options open.
4. I focused on Quality and not Quantity- Having the competition right across the street had made me thinking “Am I priced above the running rate?” I looked at their price of Php23.- against my Php30.-. I studied my notes and whatever mathematical equation I formulate, Php30.- per kilo is the last price that gives me decent profit..Lower than that is already a waist of effort. So what I did was to maintain my loyal customers and give them the best service they deserved. My customers may not be many but they are my VALUED clients that contributes to my business’ existence.

Whatelse…can’t think of anything more. Laundry business is a simple business and my experience is when I took care of it, it took care of me the same way..
