If you are looking for brand new dry cleaning you can contact technolux. I beliece the price of brand new is more than 1M pesos. Usually most dry cleaning machine in the philippines still uses perc. If the dry cleaning machine is a close system, it is a lot safer to use. A close system is usually a dry-in dry-out machine. An old dry cleaning machines which is an open type is something that is more dangerous to dry cleaners because of more exposures to perc.

I don’t understand your comments about the advantage of “dry cleaning” wet method? All dry cleaning method get wet. Even the spray system, the clothes get wet but eventually evaporates quickly.

Rgds

Hi Tatok,

When I mention dry cleaning “wet method” I meant soaking the fabric in water and not dry cleaning solvent. I believe water is safe to use rather than perc even in a closed system machine..Just a thought.

Regards too.

If you are talking about safety of the dry cleaning operator, you are 100% correct. However, using water on clothes/textiles that is intended for dry cleaning only could lead to a financial disaster. Although, an expert dry cleaner can determine what safe and unsafe to wet clean. I believe you have probably processed imported curtains that cost around 100T pesos. I used to interview applicant who got fired because of these issues.

Mind you that the classification of PERC as carcinogen was already withdrawn.

@tatok,

I would give you that, however with proper procedure, technique, and a lot of skill, one should be able to handle it well. I saw other countries on their dry cleaning procedure using water and its a far cry from using the perc. Very relaxed, no need to use mask and gloves for hands. If perc is withdrawn from being classified as carcinogen, I WONDER WHY.. However, I still wouldn’t put myself or my staff in a situation that I believe would eventually lead to sickness and death..

Regards and have a nice day!
